65 square meters apartment located on Lapad peninsula with distance from old city of Dubrovnik 2.2km. It is a comfortable apartments consisting of two bedroom, large living room, kitchen with dining table and bathroom. Fantastic position :)
ABOUT LAPAD Certainly the biggest and most beautiful part of Dubrovnik found its place on Lapad peninsula, thus the name Lapad. This part is located to the west of the City and is a place of many hotels, beaches, lovely promenades, and walking tracks. Lapad is also a very nice residential area. The part of Lapad called "Uvala Lapad" or simply Uvala, meaning the bay of Lapad is a place of a lovely promenade beside the bay filled with hotels and beaches. The Uvala promenade continues in a lovely sea-coast walking track to the very end of the peninsula and returns following the coast on the other side of peninsula. The track passes through "Dubrava - Babin Kuk" which is another part of Lapad worth to mention. Lapad is sometimes called the lungs of Dubrovnik because of hillock Petka which is filled with dense oak wood. Another lovely walking track leads to the top of this hill, a vista point that offers exquisite view. Several wonderful beaches are located in part of Dubrovnik called Lapad. Lapad is a peninsula holding the most beautiful, outer walls, part of Dubrovnik, with a heavenly bay, Sumratin bay (Uvala Lapad) in which all these beaches are located. Lapad bay has a long boulevard with many coffee bars where one can refresh himself in hot summer days. At the end of this boulevard, beaches are located. First beach is called Uvala Lapad or Uvala (meaning Bay). It is a sandy beach offering many things. If you just like to sit and enjoy the view there are a beach restaurant and coffee bars. For those who want to lie down and enjoy in the sun, easy chairs can be rented, and if it becomes to hot, beach umbrellas are for rent too.

About Dubrovnik - Unesco World Heritage
The 'Pearl of the Adriatic', on the Dalmatian coast, was an important Mediterranean sea power from the 13th century onwards. Although severely damaged by an earthquake in 1667, Dubrovnik managed to preserve its beautiful Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque churches, monasteries, palaces and fountains.
Dubrovnik was founded in the first half of the 7th century by a group of refugees from Epidaurum, who established their settlement at the island and named it Laus. The Latin name Ragusa (Rausa), in use until the 15th century, originated from the rock (Lat. lausa = rock). Opposite that location, at the foot of Srđ Mountain, the Slavs developed their own settlement under the name of Dubrovnik, derived from the Croatian word dubrava, which means oak woods. When the channel that separated these two settlements was filled in the 12th century they were united. From the time of its establishment the town was under the protection of the Byzantine Empire; after the Fourth Crusade the city came under the sovereignty of Venice (1205-1358), and by the Treaty of Zadar in 1358 it became part of the Hungarian-Croatian Kingdom, when it was effectively a republican free state that reached its peak in the 15th and 16th centuries. An economic crisis in Mediterranean shipping and, more particularly, a catastrophic earthquake on April 1667 that levelled most of the public buildings, destroyed the well-being of the Republic. This powerful earthquake came as a turning point in the city's development.
Dubrovnik is a remarkably well-preserved example of a late-medieval walled city, with a regular street layout. Among the outstanding medieval, Renaissance and Baroque monuments within the magnificent fortifications and the monumental gates to the city are the Town Hall (now the Rector's Palace), dating from the 11th century; the Franciscan Monastery (completed in the 14th century, but now largely Baroque in appearance) with its imposing church; the extensive Dominican Monastery; the cathedral (rebuilt after the 1667 earthquake); the customs house (Sponza), the eclectic appearance of which reveals the fact that it is the work of several hands over many years; and a number of other Baroque churches, such as that of St Blaise (patron saint of the city).

Excellent service... Given lots of recommendations for our time there which was particularly useful as we're visiting for such a short while. The owner sat down and told us in detail the sites worth seeing, the places worth eating and where to avoid if on a budget. The room was lovely, AC worked once we swapped the tv batteries around (no intention to watch tv on holiday but it is nice and big if you do). Lovely shower, excellent location and value for money. Would definitely stay there again.
